Mr Kiat Lim, MBBS, FRACS, MSurg, is a General Surgeon with sub-specialized training in Upper Gastrointestinal and Weight Loss surgery. Kiat completed of his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Monash University and Advanced Surgical Training at Austin Hospital. Post Fellowship in General Surgery, Kiat pursued sub-specialty training and was one of the few pioneering trainees accredited by Australia and New Zealand Gastro-Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA). As if life was not busy enough, he undertook a higher degree by research and thesis (Master of Surgery). This built his foundation in academic surgery. As a result, Kiat is well presented and well published in peer review journals internationally.

I believe that the key to a successful operation is to ensure that the patient understands the disease process, the potential treatment available and realistic outcomes. I also believe that the “well-informed, happy, motivated” patient enables me to produce my best results. I believe that advancement in surgery and solutions to complex problems are limited by our imagination. I believe in perfection, being meticulous and being prepared. I enjoy the challenges posed by the human body as much as having a “leisurely chat” with my patients to ensure that they are well informed every step of the way.
